About the Position

The Director of Emergency Services is responsible for coordinating 24-hour coverage of the Emergency Department. As the ER Director, you are responsible for the department’s financial liabilities, quality of care, functional excellence, and the accomplishment of strategic goals and objectives in line with the overall hospital. To do so, you will facilitate recruitment, selection, and retention of the Emergency Department’s staff and ensure your staff is regularly evaluated and assessed on applicable knowledge and skills for the unit. You will need clear leadership and critical thinking skills, such as self-direction, initiative, interpersonal skills, and strong communication skills.

The GCRMC Emergency Department sees 32,000 visits per year and is a level 3 trauma center available 24/7. The emergency room nurses are all ACLS, PALS, and trauma nurse certified. The department is staffed by physicians, mid-level providers, nurses and technicians. Lab services are provided 24 hours a day by a CAP Certified laboratory. Our state-of-the-art Diagnostic Imaging department compliments the services available in our Emergency Department. Hospitalists are available to meet the needs of patients without a primary care physician. Helicopter transport is available for patients requiring a higher level of care.

Requirements

• 3 years of Emergency Room experience
• 1 year as an ER Charge Nurse
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
• Current BLS certification
• Current Registered Nurse license
